Whether you're hoping to meet someone special, make new friends or simply enjoy a night out with people who understand what it's like to be single, you'll be very welcome.

There are no awkward games, no speed dating and absolutely no pressure to find a partner. Just real people, real conversations and hopefully plenty of laughter!

Some people come along regularly, while others are joining us for the very first time, so there's always a lovely mix of familiar and new faces.

Please don't worry! Most people arrive on their own, and I know that walking into a room full of strangers can feel a little daunting.

I'll be there to welcome you, introduce you to a few people and help you feel comfortable.

You won't be the only one feeling a little nervous, I promise! And once the conversations start flowing, you'll soon wonder what you were worried about.

Do I need to book in advance?

Booking in advance is recommended so I know you're coming and can contact you if there are any last-minute changes. However, you're welcome to come along and register on the night, subject to space being available. Just remember, if the event is cancelled or changed, I won't be able to let you know unless you've booked.

How much does the event cost?

Your first Love In Sync event is completely FREE! After that, it's £10 per person. Affinity PLUS members can attend for FREE.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely! Most people come along on their own, so you'll be in good company. I'll be there to welcome you, introduce you to a few people and help you settle in. There's no need to feel nervous.

What age group is this event for?

This event is aimed at singles aged 50 and over. Most attendees tend to be in their late 50s, 60s and 70s, but everyone is different, and age is just a number!

Is this speed dating?

No! There are no timed conversations, awkward games or pressure to find a partner. It's simply a relaxed social evening where you can meet other singles, enjoy a drink and have a chat.

Do I have to be looking for a relationship?

Not at all! Some people come hoping to meet someone special, while others are simply looking to make new friends, enjoy some company and get out more. Everyone is welcome as long as they're single.

Where is the event being held?

Decanter Spirit, 49 High Street, Bromsgrove, B61 8AJ. We'll be meeting in the upstairs room.

Where do I get a drink?

The bar is downstairs, so you're welcome to grab a drink before heading upstairs to join us.

What if I'm nervous about attending?

That's completely normal! Many people feel a little nervous before their first event, especially if they haven't been out socialising for a while. I'll be there to welcome you and help you feel at ease. You don't have to walk into a room full of strangers without a friendly face to greet you.

Will there be equal numbers of men and women?

As this is a social event rather than speed dating, we don't have set numbers of men and women. The balance varies from event to event, and some people decide to come along on the night. The focus is on meeting people, making connections and enjoying yourself rather than matching numbers.

Can I bring a friend?

You're welcome to bring a friend if they're also single and within the event's age range. Each person will need to register separately. Our events are specifically for single people, so we ask that married or partnered friends don't attend.

What time does the event start and finish?

We're meeting on Friday 27th November 2026, from 6.30pm until 8.30pm. You're welcome to arrive from 6.30pm, and I'll be there to greet you.

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident! There's no dress code. Smart casual is absolutely fine.

Can I leave with someone I've just met?

For your own safety, we recommend that you don't leave the event with someone you've only just met. If you'd like to see someone again, arrange to meet somewhere public another day and let someone you trust know your plans.
